Leading social media usage reasons in Chile 2023

A survey conducted in the third quarter of 2023 found that around 62.5 percent of internet users in Chile used social media to stay in touch with friends and family. Reading news stories was the second main reason for using social media for almost half of the respondents. Looking for content and filling up spare time were important reasons for 45.3 percent and 42.7 percent of social media users, respectively.
