Almost half of respondents in the Great Britain stated that the war in Ukraine made them think that Russia was weaker than they had expected, according to a survey conducted in December 2022 and January 2023. Public perception of Russia's strength also declined in the U.S. and selected members of the European Union (EU). At the same, six out of ten Indians found Russia to be more powerful than they had expected prior to the invasion of Ukraine.
