Household electricity prices worldwide 2022, by country and component
The European countries of Denmark, Belgium, and the United Kingdom had the highest household electricity prices in 2022, at over 30 pence per kilowatt-hour. In Denmark, electricity taxes represented approximately 58 percent of the domestic electricity bill. By comparison, the United Kingdom and Belgium accounted for the most expensive electricity excluding taxes. Meanwhile, the average domestic electricity bill in Turkey amounted to roughly seven pence per kilowatt-hour.
