According a survey carried out in the United States in 2021, 70 percent of hospitals reported they had found it difficult to electronically send health information to other care settings or organizations because it had been hard to find the providers' direct address. Furthermore, 64 percent of hospitals said the lack of capability of their exchange partners to receive data had been a barrier to electronically sending health information.
