Development environment operating system distribution globally 2022-2023

According to a 2023 survey, some 64 percent of software developers working with desktop environments work on Windows applications, down from 86 percent of respondents in the previous year. Meanwhile, the share of software developers who used macOS for their development environment increased to 42 percent in 2023, up form 39 percent in the previous year.
