Leading AI cost decreases in business worldwide 2021, by function

The greatest saving in business cost from implementing artificial intelligence (AI) driven programs came in supply chain management. More than 50 percent of respondents said their business had seen cost reductions in this function in 2021. The majority of that cost reduction was under ten percent. This significant cost reduction in small increments is likely to stem from numerous minor programs and automations through the entire supply chain system. Product and/or service development saw the most sizable share of large reduction in cost, with 30 percent of cost reduction in that function being ten percent or more, and six percent of it being more than 20 percent cost reduction.
