In 2023, shipments of smartphones running on Android were estimated at over 960 billion units, compared to only 225 million running Apple's iOS. Shipments of both Android and iOS devices are expected to increase in 2027, with forecasts placing shipments at 1.1 billion and 248 million, respectively.
