According to a survey conducted in December 2021, around seven in 10 U.S. Baby-boomers believed the companies benefit from exchanging their personal data. In comparison, only 56 percent of Generation Y or Millennials thought the same. Overall, more than 60 percent of U.S. consumers believed businesses profit from trading private information about consumers.
