Of the human trafficking victims trafficked for sexual exploitation between 2012 and 2020, an apartment supplied by the trafficker was the most common venue of exploitation. In nearly 20 percent of the cases the exploitation took place in this type of venue. Bars was the second most common venue with 14 percent. In 2020, 40 percent of the victims of human trafficking in the world were trafficked for sexual exploitation.
