According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2024, around 87 percent of respondents in their twenties stated that they had bought digital goods or merchandise related to a character within the last year. While the purchase rate varied by age group, it was relatively high among all respondents regardless of age. The age group with the lowest purchase rate were those in their sixties, of whom about 69 percent had bought digital character goods.
