In 2020, Germany introduced a new driving license class that simplifies acquiring a license for riding light motorcycles with an engine of 125cc or less, for drivers who already hold a class B driving license for passenger cars. In the first year of its existence this license class was issued nearly 78,000 times by authorities in Germany.
