According to a survey conducted in 2022 among Chinese startups that were collaborating with multinational companies (MNC), approximately 58 percent of startups indicated that their major argument for collaboration was to build impressive portfolios and open bigger markets. Only two percent of startups said that attracting investment was their main purpose for searching collaboration with MNCs.

The survey was carried out among 511 Chinese startups that had collaborations with multinational companies (MNC), especially companies listed on the Fortune 500.
