According to forecasts, the number of electric vehicles in Vietnam will reach one million by 2028. Although electric cars currently only accounted for a modest share of the passenger car market in the country, these vehicles were forecast to become more common in the future. The Vietnamese government has been encouraging the usage of e-cars by introducing a lower import tax and registration fees compared to gasoline-based vehicles.
