Telegram subscribers of Ramzan Kadyrov and Vladimir Soloviev 2022-2023
The number of subscribers of Telegram channels of Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Russia's Chechen Republic, and the journalist Vladimir Soloviev steadily increased after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The blogs of Kadyrov and Soloviev were the most popular political Telegram channels in Russia. Both were pro-government and supported the war in Ukraine.
Kadyrov's blog saw its subscriber count increase from around 56.2 thousand on February 14, 2022, to over 2.2 million on April 26, 2022. In October 2022, the number of subscribers to his channel saw another increase. In that month, Kadyrov published his most viewed post of 2022, where he reacted to the reports that Russian troops withdrew from Lyman, a strategically important town of Ukraine, and wrote that he believed Russia should introduce martial law in territories near the border with Ukraine and use low-yield nuclear weapons.
