Global markets with the highest yearly increase in breached accounts 2021-2022
In 2022, the highest increase in the number of accounts exposed in data breaches was in Indonesia, nearly 270 percent year-over-year. Sri Lanka ranked second, with an increase of over 200 percent, while Russia followed, registering around 190 percent increase in breaches. Despite these countries seeing a significant increase in the number of leaked accounts, between 2021 and 2022, the global number of accounts breached decreased by 67.6 percent year-over-year.
