U.S. vice presidential candidates who were women 1884-2020
In 1884 one woman, Marietta Stow, ran for vice president under the banner of the Equal Rights Party, and was the first women to run for vice president. In 2020, Kamala Harris became the third woman vice presidential nominee, and subsequently became the first female vice president of the United States.
