Survey participants were asked to state what aspects they thought were most important to clients both during the pandemic and what aspects they felt clients would prioritize in 2025. Trust is ranked as a primary element in both the current and future climate. This was in correlation with themes expected to have a significant impact on the financial industry in the near future. Survey respondents expect that by 2025, clients will place a higher emphasis on a firm commitment to Responsible Investing (RI) and Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) related criteria.
Financial professionals' current and forecast view of client priorities in Europe from 2022 projected to 2025
Survey respondents were asked what aspects they thought were most important to clients during the pandemic and what change they expect by 2025.
RI is an abbreviation for responsible investing.
ESG is an abbreviation for Environment, Social, and Governance investment criteria.
Survey respondents were located in selected European
countries (UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Finland,
Austria and Luxembourg). 44 percent of participants were wealth managers, 17 percent worked in private banking, and 15 percent were Independent financial advisers (IFA). The remaining survey participants worked throughout fintech, asset management, investment platforms, retail banking, and robo-advisor services.
