According to a survey among Southeast Asian consumers in 2022, the most common reason to shop secondhand was the cheaper price compared to buying brand new across all surveyed countries. Half of the respondents in Singapore stated they shopped secondhand because it is more environmentally friendly to do so, which was the highest among surveyed Southeast Asian countries in 2022.
