In Canada, as in many other countries, the labor participation rate tends to decline with age. The labor participation rate of women also varies significantly depending on the birth cohort. At age 50 for example, 81.34 percent of women born between 1956 and 1965 are still in the labor force, compared with less than a half of women born between 1920 and 1929.
