In five countries in Europe, private labels accounted for over half of the consumer goods' market volume as of 2023. Switzerland topped the list with 57 percent of its consumer goods labeled as private brands. Other European countries followed in the ranking of private label shares. In Belgium and Portugal, 55.7 and 55.2 percent of the FMCG volume was held by private labeled products, respectively.
