In 2022, upstream natural gas investments worldwide amounted to an estimated value of 150 billion U.S. dollars. From 2011 to 2014, global investments in upstream natural gas increased from approximately 220 billion U.S. dollars to 255 billion U.S. dollars. Following that, from 2015 onwards, a drastic decreasing trend in investments occurred to reach 110 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.
