In March 2023, Norway exported a total of 7.75 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas through pipelines to European Union countries including Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, and Ireland. Germany was by far the prime EU importer of Norwegian natural gas via pipelines at that time, with an import volume of approximately three bcm. This was followed by an import volume of approximately 1.45 bcm and 1.35 bcm to France and Belgium, respectively.
