In 2020, there were 0.25 common law courts and 1.26 specialized courts per 100,000 inhabitants in France. These are the lowest figures recorded since 2010. Indeed, with the exception of 2018 for specialized courts, the number of courts per inhabitant has been in continuous decline since the beginning of the decade.
In 2021, nearly 90,000 people were employed by the justice system in France.
