Savings of private households in Germany 1999-2023
Total savings of German private households amounted to around 438.4 billion euros in 2023. This was a significant decrease compared to the year before, when private household savings totaled at over 521 billion euros. In this case, savings are defined as deposits in savings accounts in banks, considered an investment and not used for transactions. Interest rates are determined by the duration period set. The status at the end of the year is shown in each case.
