In a survey conducted in 2022, 42 percent of respondents stated that news media coverage in India focused excessively on affluent and famous members of society. Meanwhile, a fair share of respondents was of the opinion that too little was reported on marginalized segments of society such as the Adivasis, the poor, and Dalits.
