In 2022, Spain's transport sector consumed more energy than any other sector in the country that year, at around 32.5 million metric tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe). This represented more than one third of Spain's final energy consumption in 2022. Ranking second and third that year were the industrial and households sectors, which consumed some 32.5 and 17.9 Mtoe worth of energy, respectively.
