As of December 2022, SBI Mutual Funds in India had the highest exposure to the Adani group at around 47 billion Indian rupees in absolute terms, followed by UTI Mutual Funds. A large number of mutual fund companies incurred significant losses as a result of setbacks to Adani Group's stocks post-publication of Hindenburg's report claiming fraud and stock manipulation, among others.
