EU services imports by product group 2013-2021

During the decade since 2013, the European Union imported a growing number of services from the rest of the world. In most years, the majority of these services were from either ICT, media, computers, business, or financial services, with almost half a trillion Euro worth of imports in this product category in 2021.
Other popular categories of service imports over this period were transport equipment, travel, and postal services, as well as health, pharmaceuticals, education, culture, and sport services. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, EU services imports declined due to the infeasibility of providing in-person services while social distancing restrictions were in place.
