Demand for seaborne trade is projected to increase in the following decades. Certain segments of seaborne trade will show more growth than others: demand for gas tankers is forecast to grow by 4.4 percent between 2022 and 2030 and by 3.6 percent between 2031 and 2040. Demand for the transport of liquid bulk, on the other hand, if projected to diminish by 0.9 percent between 2031 and 2040 and by 1.3 percent between 2041 and 2050.
