In 2022, there were just under 18.3 million hospitalizations in healthcare facilities in France. That year, roughly 9.1 million hospital stays in the country lasted more than a day. Moreover, most of these stays were registered in public hospitals, whereas private for-profit hospitals recorded a larger number of visits shorter than 24 hours.
