The majority of consumers in Japan purchased private label products at least once a month, as revealed in a survey conducted in October 2022. The largest share of respondents, around 21.4 percent, bought private branded products around two to three times per month.
Private label consumer products are commonly distributed by supermarkets and convenience stores under store brands in Japan.
