Meta Platforms paid the highest amount of tax for foreign digital companies for selling goods and services online in Kazakhstan, at over 13.3 billion Kazakhstani tenge in 2022. It was followed by iHerb with approximately 2.9 billion Kazakhstani tenge. The tax, also known as "Google Tax," requires foreign digital companies to pay a 12 percent value-added tax (VAT) for offering digital services.
