According to a survey carried out among postmenopausal women in France in 2020, weight gain was ranked, on average, as the most bothersome symptom of the menopause. With a rating of 4.62, on a ranking of 0 to six (with six being 'extremely bothersome'), weight gain was ranked slightly higher than symptoms such as vaginal dryness and difficulty sleeping.
