Favorite film directors in the U.S. 2023

The most favorably ranked director among U.S. audiences in 2023 in Steven Spielberg with a net favorability ranking of 71 percent. The net favorability rating is the share of respondents with a favorable opinion of a director minus the share with an unfavorable views. Clint Eastwood ranks in second place with a rating of 62 percent, followed by Ron Howard at 55 percent. Tim Burton has a rating of 51 percent and Martin Scorsese one of 50 percent. All of other directors have net favorability ratings of less than 50 percent.
