In a survey among German companies operating in China conducted in August and September 2022, about 90 percent of respondents stated that their business turnovers in China were impacted by the country's strict COVID-19 control measures. However, almost half of all companies surveyed reported no impact of the Zero-COVID policy on employment.

Original survey question: How heavily have lockdowns throughout China affected our business performance in the following areas by the end of 2022, compared to 2021?
Among all the 593 member companies participating in the survey, about 60% were from machine/industrial equipment , automotive, and business services sectors. About 66% of the companies had production business in China.
Percentage points exceeding 100 percent are probably due to rounding.
