As of 2025, the average age of senators in the 119th Congress was 64. Of the total 100, 33 members of the U.S. Senate were between the ages of 60 and 69 - more than any other age group. The minimum age requirement to be a member of the Senate is 30, opposed to the House of Representatives which has a minimum age requirement of 25.
