In 2022, IT leaders believed that biometrics, pins, and hardware security keys were the best form of passwordless authentication methods. Biometrics were used globally by 67 percent of respondents, followed by PINS, used by 48 percent. Additionally, respondents in Germany were using hardware security keys more than PINs.
