In 2021, the occupational sectors most frequently affected by collective work stoppages in France were banking, financial institutions and insurance (7.5 percent), followed by health and social sector (seven percent), and finally metallurgy and steel (3 percent), according to the Ministry of Labor. In addition, companies with more than 200 employees were much more frequently affected by strikes: indeed, almost a fifth of large companies reported at least one strike in 2021.
