In 2022, a survey of women aged between 45 and 55 years in the United Kingdom (UK) found that a significant share had their ability to work impacted by menopause symptoms. Among women who took time off due to menopause symptoms, around 40 percent said the main reason they gave their employer was they were off due to anxiety or depressions. Furthermore, a fifth of respondents said they were suffering from another physical illness rather than telling their employer about the menopause symptoms.
