Preference for biometric payments in the UK in 2023, by age and gender

Gen Z's preference to use biometric authentication for payments in the United Kingdom was only slightly higher than that of Millennials. This is according to a survey held among consumers ages 18 to 75 - with "Gen Z" here being defined as the age group 18 to 24 years old. Of all the various types of digital or cashless payments, biometrics is relatively undocumented. Nevertheless, the source claims the use of biometric payment is "on the horizon", although it does not specify which type of biometric authentication it refers to here. "Biometric payments" refers to any POS payment performed using a person's physical traits. This can include iris scanning or speech recognition, but often refers to facial recognition and fingerprint scanning.
