Industrialization index in Africa 2021, by region and indicator
The industrialization index is divided into three sub-indices: performance, direct determinants, and indirect determinants. The performance sub-index measures how well African countries are generating manufacturing output and exports. The direct determinant measures how well they are directing their endowments (capital and labor) towards industrial development, whereas the indirect determinant measures how well they are creating an enabling environment for industrialization, including macroeconomic stability, sound institutions, and infrastructure.
