Between 2017 and 2020, about eight percent of all licensed medical aesthetic practices in China lost their licenses. Regulations over the medical aesthetic sector in China are strict, but violations remained very common. Almost 70 percent of all workers in the sector were unlicensed and illegal as of 2020.
