According to a survey conducted in Japan in December 2021, 7.6 percent of female respondents aged 12 to 19 years old used short-form video sharing apps, such as Instagram, Reels, or Karasta, in order to listen to music. Short-form video sharing apps in this instance did not include TikTok, which was treated as a separate category in the survey.
