Among the presented Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, Russia and Czechia had the highest share of the population owning a mobile phone, at nearly 99 percent in 2022. Romania followed with a mobile phone ownership rate of 98 percent. For comparison, in Slovakia, approximately three quarters of inhabitants owned a mobile phone in 2020.
