U.S. employees and their levels of burnout
Full and part-time employees in the United States have reported feeling differing extremities of burnout. Overall, almost one in ten members of the U.S. workforce stated they felt their burnout level was very high, whilst fifteen percent said their level of burnout was high. Moreover, roughly one-quarter of respondents experienced low levels of burnout.
COVID-19 and rising levels of burnout
Across all generations of employees, the COVID-19 pandemic affected feelings of burnout. In January 2020, 47 percent of Millennials who were in employment said that they had feelings of burnout. By February 2021, 58 percent of Millennials reported feeling this way. Respondents belonging to the Baby Boomer generation also reported increased feelings of burnout, despite being the age group feeling the least amount pre-pandemic.
