In 2022, a survey conducted among consumers in Australia revealed that buying a secondhand clothing item from Depop stopped around 91 percent of respondents from buying a brand-new item. Only five percent of respondents reported still buying a brand-new clothing item, despite purchasing a secondhand item from Depop.
