In the days before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, OTT video streaming apps recorded around 8.4 million new installs in the United States and 2.5 million new installs in Europe. By comparison, in the days between the 20th of November and the 18th of December, 2022, OTT apps of video platforms broadcasting the World Cup matches saw 12.9 million new installs in the U.S. as well as 7.5 million new installs from users based in Europe.
