U.S.: consumer attitude towards car buying 2022
According to an October 2022 survey, 21 percent of U.S. respondents were considering spending less or buying a different vehicle when thinking about their future new or used car purchases. This was an increase of around five percentage points compared to June 2022. In contrast, the share of participants waiting until more inventory is available had decreased between both surveys. In both June and October, over half of respondents mentioned not looking to buy a vehicle.
