In 2023, over half of the loans and advances granted worldwide by Barclays PLC were in the United Kingdom. In comparison to the UK, the presence of the London-based bank in the rest of the world was much smaller. Most of the lending provided by Barclays was in the form of home loans.

The comparability of the figures until 2017 with the ones since 2018 is hindered by the fact that the latter ones are the values at amortized costs.
