A majority of U.S. citizens do not think it appropriate for Golden Globe Award winners to discuss politics, whether national or international, in their acceptance speeches. According to a survey 53 percent of respondents mentioned that they thought it completely or somewhat inappropriate to mention either U.S. or international politics in their acceptance speeches. 17 percent of respondents were unsure. While 29 percent said it was completely or somewhat appropriate to mention U.S. politics, and 30 percent international politics.
